To avoid falling victim to phishing, do not click on links in suspicious emails, messages, or chats. Instead, call the company directly or access their website by typing the URL in your browser. Always provide sensitive information only through secure websites or by phone. Additional consumer advice can be found at http://antiphishing.org/consumer_recs.html.
